For some reason, every time I visit www.clearanceclub.com, I’m just tickled by the “click here for a lower price” button next to their products. It gives the user a 60-minute coupon, forcing a real call to action. In the case of the Sony 4.5″ Ultraportable Micro PC, it will save you $10. After the 1.5% Jellyfish discount, the effective price for this handheld PC is only $1,515.92.

In today’s world, tiny electronics are in! Just look at some of today’s gadget blog posts - Ubergizmo’s report on Transcend’s portable hard drive, Engadget’s post on the Thanko MP3 Player, FM Radio Transmitter, Watch, Toaster (I made up that last one), and the CNet review of the Sony DVD Walkman. Does anyone else remember when “Walkman” ment a portable and clunky tape player?

Anyway, back to the Sony Micro PC. Look at what is packed into this portable machine - 1.20GHz 4.5″ SVGA touch screen, 30GB hard drive, 512mb ram, 802.11 a/b/g bluetooth wireless WAN, fingerprint sensor, built-in cameras, etc.. etc… etc…

If you’ve been looking hard for a handheld super device, look no further! This is the best deal you’ll find.

A wise man once told me that you can’t save money by spending money. I finally figured out what he meant after I saw this great deal for a portable DVD player and bought one for my daughter. I knew I was getting a screaming deal so I just had to pull the trigger.

The only problem is that my daughter is 15 months old and doesn’t like watching tv/dvds. Fortunately, I can just resell it on eBay and probably make a few dollars. :)

Writing posts for the Dealness blog accomplishes two things:

1) It points out great everday deals to all of its readers.

2) It makes me realize that I’ve recently purchased a number of the same products at higher prices.

Well, I did it again. When I finally decided it was time to graduate from an 802.11b router to the speedy 802.11g, I read some great reviews on the Netgear WGR614 router. I ended up buying it at Best Buy (through Jellyfish of course) for $39.99 plus tax & shipping (only because I didn’t have time to run to the store). I was “all in” for about $50.

Now a couple of months later, I’m posting on the same router from OnSale.com for $29.07 (+shipping). I’ve been very happy with the router and impressed by the wireless-g speed. This is a very good deal on a product that I use every day!

Fyi…shipping is $8.50 to my zip code.

The Microsoft Zune Is Coming - And It’s Cheap!

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

If you haven't heard of the Microsoft Zune, it's the much anticipated Ipod-killer coming to a store near you on November 14th. It's certainly material for the Dealness blog because the cost will be only $249.

zune.jpg

It will offer WiFi music sharing between players, come preloaded with several songs, movies and music videos, and give an owner the opportunitey to pay $14.99 for an all you can eat pass to the Zune music store. Compared to an 80gb Apple Ipod at $349, the Zune will be a deal! As November 14th roles around, check on Jellyfish for that extra cash back.

For your viewing entertainment, Zuneinfo.com got their hands on some great pictures inside the Zune factory. I can't say this is how I expected Microsoft to produce them.

Established in 1992, ClearanceClub.com has established themselves as a premier online retailer for notebook computers, PDAs and accessories. Their focus on end-of-cycle products gives customers a substantial level of savings.

Aside from everyday low prices, they also promote a number of products through “deals of the hour”, “spotlight series” and the “bottomline”. Today, I’m particularly interested in the bottomline offer.

ClearanceClub.com is offering a Sony RRC Neoprene PDA case for just $3.94 with the Jellyfish cash back applied. Here is how to get it:

1) Go to the Jellyfish.com offering here.

2) After logging into your Jellyfish account, click through to ClearanceClub.com.

4) Check your e-mail to see the special coupon for your $4 case.

As you may have imagined, the shipping & handling costs make up some of the savings for Clearance Club. Shipping to my address was $13.85, making my grand total $17.79. Still a great price for this product!

If you are anything like me and spend $5.50/day on a Molto sugar-free vanilla non-fat quad latte, it makes much more sense to just buy a machine and make them at home.

The 1100-watt machine works with ground espresso OR pods. It has a 2-cup water reservoir, 15-bar pump and an easy frothing system. It’s a very good deal for a high-quality espresso / cappuccino maker.

Ground shipping is by weight / zip and was $11.54 for me.

Two Star Deal - The Tire Rack - Save Money On Tires Every Day

Thursday, September 14th, 2006

I hopped in a friend’s SUV yesterday to head out for lunch and before sitting down, I had to move an auto service invoice that was lying on the seat. After asking him what happened to his vehicle, he informed me that it was just some routine maintenance - brake pads, new tires, oil change, etc…

I quickly remembered that the invoice total was over $1,000 so I grabbed it to take a second look. $920 for tires!!!! That is ridiculous! I can’t help but post on where he should have bought them.

tireracklogo1.jpg

One of Jellyfish’s merchant partners is the Indianapolis-based tire supplier, The Tire Rack. They have been in business since 1979 and are a fabulous place for ordering tires online. They also sell brakes, suspension, lighting, wipers and air intake products. Along with their already low prices, Jellyfish offers 4.5% cash back!

It was very quick and easy for me to enter my friends make, year and model. In this case, a 2004 Lexus GX470 produced 18 results ranging from $92-$175. I was also able to simply select the “OE” (Original Equipment) tires to get the exact same that originally came with the vehicle.

Let’s just assume that my friend wanted the best tires offered and paid $175/tire. Factor in the $69 in shipping and 4.5% cash back, he is still saving $45.63/tire, or $182.50 overall, or 20%!

Now you may be thinking that you’d still have to install these yourself. If you have just as few mechanical skills as I do, you can ship them directly to the service center and they’ll install them for a small fee. When I had needed a new tire for my car a few months ago, I shipped it straight to my auto service center and they installed it for under $20.
